Privacy Policy

The short version

OwedRate does not require accounts and does not store anything you type into our calculators — all calculations run locally in your browser. The site is funded by advertising, and our advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies as described below. You can use every tool on this site without granting any optional permission.

Data we collect

Calculator inputs: never transmitted or stored. Salary figures, invoice amounts, and dates you enter stay in your browser.

Analytics: we may use privacy-focused analytics (such as Plausible) or Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic — pages visited, country-level location, device type. We do not build individual profiles and we do not sell this data.

Advertising

We display advertising served by third-party networks, currently including Monetag, and potentially Google AdSense or similar networks in future. These partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your interests. Ad formats on this site may include banner-style in-page messages and interstitial (vignette) ads.

Ad networks act as independent data controllers of the data they collect. For details and opt-outs, see Monetag’s privacy policy. You can also limit interest-based advertising through your browser settings, or industry tools such as youronlinechoices.com (EU) and optout.aboutads.info (US).

Push notifications

Some pages may ask whether you want to receive browser push notifications, delivered via our advertising partner. This is strictly opt-in: notifications are only sent if you explicitly click “Allow” in your browser’s permission prompt. Declining has no effect on your use of the site. You can revoke the permission at any time in your browser’s site settings, which stops all notifications immediately.

Cookies

We do not set first-party cookies for the calculators themselves. Third-party advertising and analytics partners may set cookies as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the calculators will keep working.

Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. If you are a California resident, you have equivalent rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because we hold essentially no personal data ourselves, most requests will be directed to the relevant advertising partner — but email us and we will help you route the request: hello@owedrate.com.

Children

This site is aimed at working professionals and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes (for example, a new advertising partner) will be reflected here before they take effect.
